About Us

Our group started out small. justsidewayz started it all by looking for other drifters in the area. TYLORD was next also being heavily into drift and being the owner, designer and partial writer for the only RC drift magazine out there Drift RC. Groovy Drift, RC Dori and Drifter Central were searched. I was next (MCtrlSys) and being a IT Tech I co-designed and configured the website, forum and chat. For months we spent looking through the drifter forums for possibilities. People would come and people would go but we always ended up being a few stronger with each wave.

Sometime later justsidewayz came up with idea to promote all of this on www.craigslist.org. The people started to show up left and right. I followed him by putting up a Facebook and MySpace page for the group. The drifters started coming in en masse’. Soon we had about 45 people we were in contact with and the meets grew from approximately from 3 to 13.

Originally this site was only a blog to record what we did but due to a issue with Drifter Central who used to host our forum we had to put up another forum and that is what ended up here. We enjoy the freedom and we have found that this also attracted more people. This is where we intend to stay.

At the moment we have lost some people due to the move and have gained more. Impromptu unscheduled practices are not ending up with 5-8 people instead of 2 and the scheduled, well we will tell you on the next big meet.

Now that you know how we started you should know what we are about. We are a group of people who are obsessed with RC Drift. We are not a team, we are a group. The difference is that teams are usually set up to compete. We are here to have fun, to trade knowledge and to provide communications between people with the same interest. We have no issues if the people who are attached to the group want to make their own teams start independent practices or whatever. We just aren’t going to do it. We intend to have a relaxed environment and meets are not formatted heavily and although we do like to keep some orginization we like to let the members do what they want. We are a group of individuals not a hive mind.

So thats what we are. Here is what we are not. We are not discriminatory. The only qualifications that we have are that you are obsessed with RC Drift. We do not like drama. We do not like assholes (pardon my french). If we determine that you are creating drama on a regular basis or are a complete asshole (pardon my french again) you will be gone. We give an exceptional amount of leeway on this and always ask the individual about the problem involved but we do have a point where we have to take action. Enough of that the rest will be in the rules.

This whole endeavor has ended up being far bigger and far more exiting than any of us could have imagined. We were only looking for a small team of people and we ended up with this. We hope it will just keep going. We hope that the art of RC Drift will outlive us all.
