Ok so I apologize about not having written this up earlier. I have been busy. No, I mean it, I have been busy. So anyway here is what happened to our heroes since the last episode.

There were two major comps this month. Our 2nd major comp went down on the 18th of this month. It was a good time albeit very hot. The heat I think drove away some of the drivers from the comp but we did have a decent turnout. It was pushing the 100 degree plus mark and the EZUps could only do so much to shield us all from that blazing hydrogen bomb in the sky. Most of the major players were there and some new ones. We gained a new player from the depths of the east coast. 716UTIM3 joined the comp at the last minute and made a good showing. When all was said and done everything went down as follows:

Round 2 Qualify Points

    1st JustSideWayz 5 Points
    2nd J-M250 3 Points
    3rd mtz88 1 Point

Round 2 Comp results

    1st mtz88 10 points
    2nd WDJ 8 points
    3rd JustSiDeWayz 6 points
    4th WallysWorld 5 points
    5th J-M250 4 Points
    6th RobsRacing 3 points
    7th 4nspeed 2 points
    8th Ddriftit 1 point

Standings after round 2

    1st JustSiDeWayz 21 points
    2nd J-M250 14 points
    3rd mtz88 11 points
    3rd WallyWorld 11 points
    5th RobsRacing 10 points
    6th WDJ 9 points
    7th DDJ 8 points
    8th Envyuno 5 Points
    9th DaTNiS916 3 points
    10th 4nspeed 2 points
    11th Ddriftit 1 point
    11th Stupidgiggers 1 point
Who would have figured mtz88 would have taken it. What the hell does mtz88 mean anyway?
So the 1:10 Sac Drift comps go on like clockwork thanks to JustSIDEwayZ. He was the one who put in the majority of the work to accomplish this points series. Also thanks to all of those who volunteered time to do judging to the comp and to help in the construction.
Next on the comp list was on the 25th at the second series race of Hyperdrift’s Alpha 1 Series. 1:10 Sac Drift made a decent showing. On the list were JustSIDEwayZ, 4nSpeed, J-M250, DDJ, WJD and Datsun710

Ok…so right now there is a tie for 16th place. There’s 1 more round, so if there’s still a tie, there will be a wild card drift-off during the round 4 (finals). Right now, Matt has the advantage since his qualifying scores are the highest of the 4 guys after 2 rounds…thus, he would be seeded #1 in the drift off.

Round 3 will be the make-it-or-break-it round. So you guys that are sitting on the fence can still take a spot in the top 8 if you place high enough.

There might be a change to the round 3. A handful of guys might not be able to make it, so we might push it to either August 22, or September after the FD event.

It was an awesome event. Unlike the the Sacramento weather for our comp the Freemont weather was nice. Around the mid 70s. We all set up our EZ Ups out in the parking lot of the mall that contained HobbyTown USA Freemont.

I would like to say thank you to Hyperdrift Norcal and to HobbyTown USA who have always been great to us. We have always had great luck and support from HobbyTown USA. In Freemont and Folsom HobbyTown USA have been great. This hobby shop had a great vibe to it as well. As I looked around you could find not only a great selection of hobby products and a friendly staff but tables apon tables of people playing collectible card games and a section in the back for the little kids to play. Great showing guys.

So needless to say this month has been busy and I don’t see any sign of it letting up. This is a good thing though. We will get through it one exhibition at a time from one drift to the next.
