Well this was something. We have WJD, DDJ and J-M250 to thank for setting this exhibition up. Autosport Performance was the shop that put this all on and they did a great job. Although with the cars that showed up it would have been difficult to mess that up. There was everything from a heavily modified Toyota MRS to a Ferrari Testarossa. There were some amazing cars there, all import. It was a damn near sexual experience. Yes I know I’m sick. I am well past the denial phase.

Anyway the day started out like all other exhibitions with the standard setup. Unfortunately we were only allowed one overhead. You would have had to have felt how hot it was to understand. J-M250 provided us with some replacements for our standard orange plastic dots that we use to set up our practice tracks. They were made up of a soft rubber material and held much better than the dots. Also they were painted red and white for better visability. Honestly I think they looked alot more professional.

Speaking of track decor, DDJ put together a 1:10th scale automotive repair garage. I figure it is just there to make the track look more interesting. Problem was that we couldn’t find any 1:10th scale mechanics to man it. You really cant find anything like that on Craigslist. We were able to find some 1:12th scale mechanics but we like to stick to scale.

Anyway most of the day was spent doing what we like to do. Drift. Although there were some other perks. Deja Vu provided the full scale scantily clad models who did everything from posing to dancing to DJing. Multi-Talented I suppose. I spent some time getting shots of them but really did not have the time to finish off an entire roll.

If you didn’t figure it out from earlier in the article, the one downside of the day was that it was f&#@king hot and humid. Felt like Florida Hell. Personally I went through 2 Aquafinas and 3 Powerades. Evil nasty rotten sun.

So, the show did go on. We presented from 10am to about 5pm. Sweating out every minute of it. Kyokuro Project (The Artist Formerly Known As Team Stockton) brought out some of their best bodies and cars so that they could show the rest of us white boys up. Lets face it, Yokomo bodies look good. They had better given how much they cost.

Oh I almost forgot. JDMBuck won best in show with his bad-ass Civic Hatch. Congratulations dude. I knew the bike would do something for the design. Also congratulations to Lito’s team, EuroFreakZ for coming in first for the team comp. 2 1:10 Sac Drift members to win something. Oh yeah and Lito, once you join 1:10 Sac Drift you never leave.

In closing, it was a good time and as always I love doing car shows as I suspect most of the others do as well. Where else can you drift and have kick-ass 1:1 show cars and barely clothed models all in the same place? It was good enough that I stood in the hot sun which was the equivalent of an EZ Bake oven for kids for 9 hours straight. Beat that.

BTW: we had a very cool side show toward the end of the show when a hiked up Ford 350 truck and a Cadillac with 30 inch rims hit each other. The two drivers proceeded to get into a fist fight and were dragged out by bouncers on location. :) Two of my most hated vehicle types destroying each other. That is what I call entertainment. They should have let those two fight to the death. Then shoot the winner :)
