Well here is a first. It seems that 4 of our members decided to go down to Anaheim and compete in the RCX competition. Honestly I really didn’t even know there was a drift competition happening down there. Well I
was surprised when the next
day after the show I find out that two of our members came back in 6th and 7th place. I know it doesn’t sound like much but this wasn’t a little meet. It was one put on by HPI at one of the biggest RC shows there is in the US. They were competing against members of Touge Knights, D-Style and Team Arai and a bunch of others. The two that took 6th and 7th were Datsun710 and Glenn4Speed. We are ecstatic as they are the first 2 members to place in any
drift competition anywhere. Finally our name is on the drift map as it were. I would like to congratulate all of the members of our group that went out there to compete and scream a mighty viking yalp from the top of Mt. Akina…….
Yalp!!!!

I know these articles are late as hell but it took me some time to get everything together. 1:10 Sacramento Drift Network has finally allied with a LHS (Local Hobby Shop). Fast Track Hobbies in Citrus Heights has been allowing us to drift in their store for many months now and have been extraordinarily friendly and accommodating toward the group. Although the inside surface doesn’t suit some (Linoleum, I personally think it is a great surface) as it is a very slick surface and the dust that comes from the wax on the linoleum leaves your car in a thick coat of white dust it is great that
they allowed us to do this. We have been able to promote the hobby more effectively at the shop and we have also been a help in selling products for them as well. It is a mutually beneficial relationship. We don’t drift at Fast Track every meet of course but it does take up a fair amount of our drift time. Oh and by the way, Fast Track also has a number of other surfaces that they allow us to use. The hobby shop is in the same building that used to be used by a Pep Boys so there is a garage area with polished concrete (there are some not so polished areas). There are also two huge parking lots and a loading dock in the back which is great because it has a walk ramp that circles around the flat area and acts as a drivers stand. Over all we have alot of space to deal with and the owner (Dwight) has been great toward us. Again it is mutually beneficial as we help him out from time to time and one of our members actually works for him. It has been a great time and we hope that we will be in alliance with Fast Track for years to come. That is if he get tired of our ugly asses.
