Well it finally happened. A real competition for us to actually attend. We wont all be going but alot of us will to represent the Central Valley and NorCal. Hyper-Drift from Hawaii has created a section here based out of San Jose. At the moment the section is being headed up by DJ722 who is actually a part of our forum now as well as some of us being a part of theirs. (http://www.hyperdrift.com). We have also allied with them. We were offered to be under the Hyper Drift banner but we decided that we had been doing this for long enough to want
to keep the name. The offer was appreciated but we wanted to keep our identity. Well that aside we are going to this competition. We would like to thank everyone involved in this as we know that this is alot of work and effort. The comp will be on Sunday March 27th at 7pm inside of San Jose’s Fast Pace Racing. The contact information is:

Well it looks like the Hobbytown Demo went off without a hitch.
Given there were no models other than the glue together kind but it was still fun. We drifted out there from about 8am to 5 or

Focus... Focus... CRAP!!!

JDMBuck fends off the rabid shoppers.
6pm. We actually outlasted the swap meet by at least 4 hours. A number of different people showed up and as always were utterly fascinated by the fact that these little cars were acting in total denial of the laws of physics. People apparently cant quite fathom that cars can drive sideways. As always the major fans of our demo were the kids who came by. For some reason the hobby totally enthralls all children. Kinda like Gamera. The Folsom area allthough it was a great demo is still a bit off-road centric which I can understand given the area. Given that fact we really sold nothing that we were trying to sell at the swap meet. Oh well back to ebay and craigslist. Overall as Justsidewayz noted this demo was “Off The Hook” (I hate ebonics). I just hope that our next demo is a car show because I really miss the models.

When did we get all of these cars?

Well it kinda snuck up on us. One year ago (August 30th 2008) 3 guys got together to drift. Little did any of them know that a year later we would be going as strong as we are. In one year we gained many practice locations, did two exhibitions for car shows, one TV spot, Have met individuals from 3 other clubs (Drift EZ, Team Redline & Colorado Drift), and have grown membership wise by leaps and bounds. Hell we even got one of the hobby shops here to accept us and start bringing in drift parts. And you know what? We had a damn good time doing it! We would like to thank everyone who put up with us along the way. To PXRacing/Takastyle, the Phatephex Girls, Endless Motoring, Drift EZ, all of the people who own our practice spots, Channel 31, and especially all of our wives and girlfriends who dealt with our obsession. What now? Well I guess we will just keep doing what we are doing and take it as it comes. We have arrived.

Well, another car show has come and gone. I apologize that I haven’t written anything about this meet for a while
. We weren’t all there that day as it was the Forth of July and a number of the members have families. There were 3 of us there all day and as the day went on more showed up and some stayed for a pack or two and it was still well worth the time.
As usual JDMBuck was a part of the actual car show with his tricked out Honda Civic Hatch and the rest of us watched the booth and drifted. The show was a smaller show but well worth it. The fine ladies from Phat Ephex were at this show as well and did another shoot with our tiny little cars.
Nothing much different from the last show but it was definitely for a good cause. It was a show to help keep Endless Motoring out there and tuning our imports.

Well I thought we would never get to this point but here we are. Channel 31 Good Day Sacramento did a piece on us. The whole thing was fun. We showed up at the Channel 13/31 building around 6:30 and set up. About an hour later the news people gave us the heads up that they would be out in a few minutes. The crew in attendance was just enough, as it seems we might have been pushing it with more members. The cameraman and anchor Nick Toma came out and started the news story. It seems that when we showed up there was a breaking story that they needed to cover, so we didn’t get as much time as we thought. No big. Justsidewayz was interviewed while we all drifted the track and Justsidewayz brought Nick up to speed (No pun intended) as to what it was all about. At the end Nick decided to try one of the drift cars out just once to see what drifting involved. He proceeded to spin in place 3 times and hit the wall. After this he gave up. TYLORD attempted to give Nick the 30 second drift lesson as well as could be expected. Great try. We have to face it, anchormen are not nessecarily drift gurus out of the box. It was all done as quickly as it started but it was great to get some airtime. Thanks to Nick, his cameraman and the rest of Channel 31 for giving us a bit of their time and airplay. Also thanks to the group for putting on a great show. I don’t think it could have gone better.
